No ice at all, tiny or hollow cubes, cubes clumped into a block, or the dispenser jams.
LG ice maker units (including the in-door craft ice makers) fail as an assembly — motor, mold heater, or sensor. We replace them with factory parts.
The dual solenoid valve at the back weakens with age and mineral buildup — enough pressure for the dispenser but not the icemaker, or vice versa.
The line into the ice maker freezes solid, so no water reaches the mold. We thaw it and fix the root cause — usually low water pressure or a weak valve.
If the freezer runs warm, ice production dies before anything else. Sometimes an ice maker complaint is actually a cooling repair.
The board never cycles the harvest. Diagnosed properly in LG test mode instead of throwing parts at it.

Ice maker faults on LG French-door models (including craft ice) are among our most common calls. We carry replacement assemblies and inlet valves for the popular models — most ice maker repairs are one visit.
That points at the icemaker side: a frozen fill tube, the icemaker's own inlet solenoid, or the ice maker assembly itself. The dispenser and ice maker use separate valve circuits.
The craft ice mold has its own fill and heater cycle — if spheres come out partial or not at all, the assembly usually needs replacement. It's a known repair on these models and one we do regularly.
Almost never — an ice maker or valve replacement is a fraction of the cost of a new refrigerator, and our repair is warrantied for 90 days parts and labor (longer on select parts).
Factory authorized LG repair, parts on the van, 90-day warranty. Same-day across Orange County.
