The classic LG direct-drive fault. The hall sensor on the motor fails and the drum loses its position feedback. Common and very fixable — we carry the sensor.
The direct-drive motor's magnets or windings weaken; the drum turns by hand but can't spin under load.
If the lock doesn't confirm the door is sealed, the washer refuses to spin at high speed at all.
The drum shakes violently and the washer aborts the spin to protect itself — a suspension repair, not a motor one.
LG washers won't spin with water still in the drum — a drain fault often masquerades as a spin fault.

The LE code on LG direct-drive washers is one of the repairs we do most — sensor, rotor, or stator, diagnosed with the service test mode and fixed in one visit in most cases.
LE is a motor error — most often the rotor position (hall) sensor on LG's direct-drive motor. Sometimes a 10-minute unplug reset clears a one-off event; if the code returns, the sensor or motor needs service.
Either the spin was aborted (unbalanced load, door lock, suspension) or the washer never fully drained. Check for a UE or OE code on the display — it tells us where to look.
